StoryHop is a mobile app and service operated by Aleksandr Gorin.

These Mobile App EULA and Terms apply to the StoryHop mobile app for iOS and Android, related app services, and child-device access flows.

The StoryHop mobile app is licensed, not sold.

If you download StoryHop from the Apple App Store, your use of the app is also subject to Apple's applicable App Store terms, usage rules, and standard licensed-application terms unless a custom EULA validly replaces them.

If you download StoryHop from Google Play, your use of the app is also subject to Google Play's applicable terms and policies.

If these Terms conflict with mandatory Apple App Store or Google Play rules that apply to app distribution, the relevant app-store rules may control for that distribution channel.

By installing, opening, creating an account in, using, or allowing a child to use the StoryHop mobile app, you agree to these Terms.

If you use StoryHop on behalf of a child, you confirm that you are the child's parent or legal guardian, or that you have authority from the parent or legal guardian to accept these Terms and manage the child's use of StoryHop.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the app and uninstall it from your device.

StoryHop is a reading and educational app for families. It provides stories, poems, quizzes, reading-progress features, child profiles, recommendations, and related features.

StoryHop is designed for children aged 6 and older, but accounts are created and managed by parents or legal guardians. Children cannot access parent settings.

StoryHop is for personal and family use only. StoryHop is not currently offered for school, classroom, teacher, tutoring-center, or institutional use.

Subject to these Terms, StoryHop grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the StoryHop mobile app on devices you own or control for personal and family use.

You may not:

• copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or transfer the app;
• reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code, except where applicable law expressly permits this despite the restriction;
• remove legal, copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices;
• use the app to build or train a competing service;
• make the app available over a network for use by multiple unrelated users or families;
• use the app for school, classroom, group, commercial, or institutional purposes without written permission.

Open-source components, if any, remain subject to their own licenses.

Parents create StoryHop accounts and may create child profiles.

Parents are responsible for the accuracy of account information, choosing whether to enter a child's real name or nickname, supervising child use, deciding which profiles to create, keeping credentials secure, keeping QR codes and magic links private, and all activity through their account unless caused by StoryHop's own security failure.

A parent account may be used by parents or legal guardians in the same family if they have access to the same login method. Account sharing with friends, other families, schools, groups, or the public is not allowed.

Parents may generate QR codes or magic links to let a child use StoryHop without giving the child a username or password.

QR codes and magic links are for the intended child device only. Parents must not post them publicly, share them with other families, or use them to bypass parent controls.

After a child-device login is completed, the app may keep the device signed in until the session expires, is refreshed, or is logged out according to StoryHop's session rules.

If you believe a QR code, magic link, or account session has been misused, contact support@storyhop.io or log out or revoke sessions where available.

StoryHop may request camera permission to scan StoryHop login QR codes.

QR scanning is processed locally on the device. StoryHop does not upload camera images or video for QR scanning. After a QR code is scanned, only the decoded login token is sent to StoryHop for login exchange.

StoryHop may request push notification permission if reading reminders or similar notifications are added.

You can manage app permissions using your device settings, iOS settings, Android settings, and any StoryHop settings that are available.

StoryHop is currently provided as a free app and service.

StoryHop does not currently sell subscriptions, paid digital content, paid account upgrades, or paid app features.

StoryHop may add paid features in the future. If paid mobile features are added, purchases made inside the iOS app will be handled through Apple's in-app purchase system where required, and purchases made inside the Android app distributed through Google Play will be handled through Google Play's billing system where required.

Paid features will be subject to additional or updated terms, pricing, refund information, and any legally required consumer information before purchase.

StoryHop is intended to support reading practice and make reading more engaging.

StoryHop does not guarantee any specific educational result, reading improvement, quiz performance, school readiness, curriculum alignment, diagnostic accuracy, or suitability for a particular child, school, exam, or learning need.

Parents remain responsible for deciding whether StoryHop is appropriate for their child.

You must not use StoryHop for unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, abusive, or misleading purposes; attack, disrupt, overload, scan, scrape, crawl, or reverse engineer StoryHop; bypass authentication or parent controls; share access outside your family; use StoryHop for institutional or commercial purposes without permission; copy or redistribute StoryHop content except as allowed; use bots or automated systems; interfere with other users; misrepresent your identity; or violate applicable laws or third-party rights.

StoryHop and its content are protected by copyright, trademark, database, and other laws.

StoryHop content may include original stories, adaptations, translations, quizzes, reading levels, recommendations, illustrations, avatars, user interface elements, metadata, and the selection, arrangement, and presentation of materials.

Subject to these Terms, StoryHop grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to access and use StoryHop content inside the app for personal and family reading purposes.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, publish, sell, license, scrape, train AI models on, or create competing services from StoryHop content without written permission.

Some source materials used in StoryHop may be public domain works or third-party works used under license or another legal basis.

StoryHop does not claim ownership of public-domain works themselves. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you already have under applicable law to use a public-domain work independently from StoryHop.

StoryHop-created or StoryHop-curated materials remain protected, including illustrations, adaptations, translations, simplified versions, quizzes, explanations, reading levels, metadata, recommendations, interface presentation, and selection and arrangement of materials.

StoryHop does not currently allow parents or children to post public content, comments, reviews, stories, images, free-text prompts, or public profile materials.

Parents may provide account information, child profile information, support messages, and privacy requests. Those materials are handled under the Privacy Policy.

If you send us feedback, suggestions, bug reports, ideas, or feature requests, you allow StoryHop to use them without restriction or payment to you.

You confirm that your feedback does not include confidential information that you do not want StoryHop to use.

StoryHop is an early-stage service. It may contain bugs, interruptions, missing features, changing designs, or temporary downtime.

StoryHop may change, suspend, remove, limit, or discontinue features at any time, including stories, quizzes, illustrations, recommendations, child-profile features, achievements, XP, reading levels, and progress features.

StoryHop may provide app updates, bug fixes, or changes. Some updates may be required for continued app use.

We will try to avoid unnecessary disruption, but we do not promise that any feature or content item will remain available forever.

StoryHop may suspend, restrict, or delete an account, child profile, session, QR code, magic link, or access if we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated, an account is being misused, access links were compromised, the service or users are at risk, an account is involved in attacks or fraud, or action is needed to comply with law or protect StoryHop.

You may stop using StoryHop at any time, uninstall the app, or request account deletion by contacting support@storyhop.io or privacy@storyhop.io.

The StoryHop Privacy Policy explains how StoryHop collects and uses personal data.

The Privacy Policy is part of the practical context for these Terms, but it is not replaced by these Terms.

StoryHop stories are not intended to contain external links.

Parent-facing parts of StoryHop may contain links to external websites or services, such as privacy, legal, app-store, authentication, or support resources.

StoryHop is not responsible for external websites or services that we do not control.

StoryHop is operated from Germany and may be accessed worldwide.

You are responsible for following laws that apply to you. StoryHop may restrict access from countries, regions, networks, accounts, or devices if needed for legal, security, operational, or compliance reasons.

StoryHop is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, StoryHop disclaims warranties of uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, educational outcome, and non-infringement.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties, consumer rights, or liability that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, StoryHop and Aleksandr Gorin will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, business opportunity, or educational outcome.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, StoryHop's total liability for claims relating to the free mobile app and free service is limited to 50 EUR.

These limits do not apply where liability cannot legally be limited, including liability for intent, gross negligence, death, personal injury, or mandatory consumer rights where applicable.

This section applies only to users located in the United States, to the extent permitted by law.

Before bringing a formal claim, you and StoryHop agree to try to resolve the dispute informally by emailing support@storyhop.io with a description of the dispute and requested relief.

If the dispute is not resolved within 60 days, either party may bring an individual arbitration claim, unless an exception applies.

You and StoryHop agree that disputes will be resolved only on an individual basis and not as a class, collective, consolidated, private attorney general, or representative action.

This section does not prevent individual small-claims actions where allowed, injunctive or equitable relief for misuse of intellectual property or security attacks, reports to regulators, or rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.

This section does not apply to EU, EEA, UK, Swiss, or German consumers where mandatory law gives access to courts or consumer remedies that cannot be waived.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany.

If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of mandatory consumer protections that apply in your country of residence.

For consumers in the EU, EEA, UK, or Switzerland, mandatory venue and consumer-protection rules may also apply.

StoryHop may update these Terms as the app or service changes.

If changes are material, we will provide appropriate notice, such as by email, website notice, in-app notice, app-store release notes, or account notice.

The updated Terms will apply from the stated effective date. If you do not agree to updated Terms, you must stop using StoryHop and uninstall the app.
